Clear labels reduce decisions at the destination. Use a unique box ID, a destination room and a short contents description, then add handling and opening-priority information where useful.

Make the labels

  1. Open the box label maker.
  2. Add each box and choose how many copies you need.
  3. Check spelling, room names and repeated box IDs.
  4. Create the labels and use Print result.

Use text as well as colour so the system remains understandable to everyone. Put labels where they can be seen when boxes are stacked, and use the same room names on signs in the new home.

Avoid printing full addresses, unnecessary valuables details or confidential information on packaging. Keep a separate inventory if you need a more detailed contents record. Test a small print first and check the layout against the paper or label sheet you intend to use.
